Project Overview
S&D Paving recently completed phase one of a renovation project in Caterham, focusing on installing a new patio surrounding an existing swimming pool. During the removal of the existing tiles, a six-inch void was found around the pool perimeter due to poorly compacted backfill from the original pool installation.
To correct the void and ensure long-term stability, all surrounding concrete was broken out. The team prepared the entire perimeter to receive a new reinforced concrete base. A concrete pump was set up to deliver 4–6 inches of reinforced concrete around the pool. Steel mesh reinforcement was added to prevent movement, shrinkage, or future settlement.
The pool has been fully retiled, and new porcelain slabs from London Stone (900×600mm) were installed around the perimeter. The updated paving complements the newly finished pool and enhances the overall aesthetic of the property.
The property now benefits from a beautiful, durable, and functional pool surround.
